My Style

When I was working on my portfolio at Texas Creative, my class mates nicknamed me the “Silent Killer” because they said my writing style would sneak up on them. Whether or not my work is worthy of that description, I am proud to say that it has repeatedly stimulated a variety of reactions from those who have viewed it. It made them laugh, it made them sad, it made them think, it made them say “damn that’s clever,” but most importantly it triggered some sort of emotion that got their attention. That is the kind of work I strive to create.

My Philosophy

I was fortunate enough to have teachers and mentors that forced me to rethink the very idea of advertising. What was once a headline is now a “connecting tool,” connecting ideas to brands. The individuals I formerly called copywriters and art directors have now become “idea people,” because great ideas can come in any form. What was formerly known as advertising a product is now “building a relationship.” Understanding advertising in this framework has yielded the work you will see today.
